Police say an elderly woman in Cambridge was saved from being robbed thanks to the intervention of a good Samaritan.
According to Waterloo Regional Police, the incident took place on Monday at around 8:45 a.m. in the area of Cedar Street and Grand Avenue South.
An elderly woman was walking in the area when she was approached by a man. He pushed her to the ground and tried to steal her property. A passerby intervened on the attempted robbery and the would-be thief fled the area before police arrived.
Officers later located and arrested the 66-year-old man and charged him with attempted robbery.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
