Youth taken to hospital after weapons incident in Cambridge

A youth has been taken to a local hospital after being sprayed with a noxious substance during a weapons incident in Cambridge.

According to Waterloo Regional Police, there was an increased police presence at about 5 p.m. on Friday in the area of Christopher Dr. and Champlain Blvd. for the weapons incident.

One youth was sprayed with a noxious substance and taken to hospital.

Police added that two suspects, reportedly armed with a machete and a golf club, are outstanding.

The suspects have been identified by police, and they say there is no concern for public safety.
