Cambridge youth arrested after weapons incident

A youth in Cambridge has been charged after they were seen carrying a firearm.

Waterloo Regional Police received reports of the 15-year-old with a gun in the area of Chalmers Street South and Elliot Street at 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police found out the youth had been involved in an altercation, where they were spread with a noxious substance.

They were later seen on surveillance footage carrying a concealed weapon.

Police arrested the 15-year-old, charged them with a pair of weapons-related offences, and seized a black handgun-style BB-gun.

The youth will appear in court in August.
