Suspect charged for three years of break-and-enters across Waterloo Region

Waterloo Regional Police have made an arrest for a string of break-and-enters over the past three years from all around the region.

Police say there were eleven such crimes between 2021 and this year, targeting medical and cosmetic businesses, and more, with cash and computers stolen.

The most recent cases were from February 28, when police responded to two overnight break-and-enters in Waterloo.

Investigators alleged at the time the suspect smashed the front glass doors to get inside.

They already suspected back then the same man was involved in a Cambridge theft.

Surveillance camera video of the supsect was made public.

Police announced Tuesday morning that a 49-year-old man from Mississauga was arrested eight days earlier, on July 8.

He’s now facing eleven counts of break-and-enter, commit indictable offence; plus two counts of possession of break-and-enter tools, and a charge of disguise with intent.

The WRPS Break, Enter, and Vehicle Theft Team is still investigating.
