Three arrests made in connection to ongoing fraud investigation by Waterloo Regional Police

More arrests have been made in connection to an ongoing vehicle theft and fraud investigation in Waterloo Region.

Waterloo Regional Police began the investigation in March, looking into the fraud of vehicles across southwestern Ontario, resulting in multiple arrests and 50 criminal charges.

On Thursday, officers arrested three people in the area of Erbsville Rd. and Royal Beech Dr. in Waterloo and recovered two stolen vehicles.

A 34-year-old Waterloo man, a 40-year-old Guelph woman, and a 43-year-old man have been charged with a number of offences, including possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of a stolen credit card.

In May, police made an arrest in connection to the same ongoing investigation. 28-year-old Alexandra Krafchek Alfaro was arrested and charged with a number of theft and fraud-related offences and outstanding warrants.

WRPS’ Direct Action Response Team continues to investigate.
