Two crimes, same setting: Waterloo Regional Police have released photos of one man believed to be involved in two alleged assaults on ION trains.

Police say one was an alleged assault, the other a sexual assault, and both happened on trains travelling near Fairview Park Mall in Kitchener.

The first happened back on February 28, around 2:15 p.m., when a victim was sexually assaulted on the train by a male suspect.

Then, on the night of May 22, on an ION train also near Fairview Park Mall, a different victim was assaulted by a different male suspect.

On June 27, police said they identified the man featured in the images that were released.

Police are still looking to speak to any victims or witnesses in connection with the assault incidents.
