Two arrests made after gunpoint robbery in February

A gunpoint robbery from this past February has led to two arrests.

Police launched an investigation after a female victim was robbed of her personal belongings in the Albert Street and Hickory Street area on the night of Feb. 21.

The suspect was armed and allegedly tried to sexually assault the victim, but she was able to get away unharmed.

While the victim was fleeing, the male suspect fired off a gunshot. There were no reported injuries relating to the shooting.

Police then released a photo of a suspect vehicle in connection with the Waterloo robbery.

On Tuesday morning, investigators executed a search warrant at a home in the Columbia Street and King Street North area.

Police seized a loaded handgun and made two arrests: A 38-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman.

The man was charged with several offences including robbery, assault with a weapon, and sexual assault with a weapon.

The woman is facing various firearms-related offences.
