Kitchener GO trains to be replaced by buses. Here’s when

Some trains on the Kitchener GO train line will be replaced by buses this weekend.

Construction is scheduled on Friday May 31 at 11 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Saturday June 1. The track work will force GO Transit to replace the trains with service to all stations, except for Weston, Bloor and Etobicoke North.

On Friday, the 11:22 p.m. train from Bramalea GO to Union Station is cancelled and will be replaced by a bus 31L.

It will depart at 11:25, 11:30 and 11:35 p.m., serve Malton GO Station, and head to Union Station Bus Terminal.

Departing Union, bus 31K will leave at 11:24 p.m. and run express to Brampton GO and end at Mount Pleasant GO.

Metrolinx advised those with a bicycle to travel early since each bus can only carry two bikes.

The 10:04 p.m. and 11:34 p.m. trains from Union Station to Bramalea/ Mount Pleasant will be cancelled and replaced by a bus 31L that will leave at 11:30 and 11:35 p.m.

On Saturday morning, the 7:49 p.m. train from Mount Pleasant to Union will be cancelled. Bus 31K will leave at 7:45 a.m. and 7:50 a.m. and serve:

  • Main Street North at Bovaird Drive West
  • Brampton GO
  • Shopper’s World
  • Steeles Avenue East at First Gulf Boulevard
  • Union Station

From Bramalea GO, bus 31L will leave at 8:05 a.m. and 8:10 a.m. and serve Malton and then will head to Union.

Train service will resume for the 8:49 a.m. from Mount Pleasant GO. The 9:49 a.m. from Mount Pleasant Go will leave a few minutes later at 9:53 a.m.
