Silent auction hosted by Oktoberfest Cares looking for donations

Even though summer has just begun, the people at Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest are already gearing up for another bustling event this fall.

To help raise funds for the events surrounding the festival, they’re hosting an inaugural silent auction.

Funds from the auction will help the return of the Miss Oktoberfest Ball, but with a rebrand and a change of direction, now called the Oktoberfest Cares Gala.

Oktoberfest Cares is a program that supports charitable partners and community-driven festival initiatives.

They’re accepting donations for the silent auction now until Aug. 25.

Committee members will pick up smaller item donations, and for bigger items like furniture, they will coordinate with the winner to pick up the item directly.

Bidding for the silent auction starts in September.
