“I’m in disbelief, I am shaking,” said Runstedler.

Runstedler said she bought her ticket on Wednesday and learned about the raffle through 570’s sister stations CHYM 96.7 and Country 106.7.

“I heard it on 96.7 and Country 106.7,” she said. ” I did the $100 package.”

She added that she is a single parent and she is currently trying to save up for a house.

“I just started teaching two years ago and I’m really trying to save for a house,” she said. “This is life-changing, so I will be for sure putting a large, large chunk of that in savings for a house and my car is on its last legs too so this will be really helpful with that too.”

Phoebe Dey is the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer with Cystic Fibrosis Canada and she said that the amount raised goes to research to help those living with Cystic Fibrosis.

“We’re so grateful, we have a truly committed Cystic Fibrosis community across this country,” said Dey. “We count on dollars like this being raised. They allow us to improve the lives of people living with CF. It helps us to work on making sure more people get access to life-changing treatments. We’ve had advocates across the country working hard the last few years trying to get TRIKAFTA, the new treatment for CF to Canada.”

TLC Pet Food was matching donations of up to $30,000 through the Farwell4Hire 50/50 raffle.

Erik Kuttis made the announcement Friday afternoon that he will continue matching donations until the close of the Farwell4Hire fundraising campaign which is wrapping up June 5th.

“We will match anything that comes in between now and the close of the campaign,” he said. “I’ve been putting the push out to the corporate world saying, here’s the opportunity – if you still want to donate to this great cause, we’re going to match it uncapped to where it lands when you close this thing,” he said.
