Motorcyclist seriously injured after crash in Cambridge

A motorcyclist is in hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Cambridge, and charges are expected to be laid.

It happened Tuesday night around 7:30 p.m., at the intersection of Conestoga Boulevard and Pinebush Road.

Waterloo Regional Police say the 57-year-old man driving the motorcycle was flown to an out-of-region hospital by air ambulance, after crashes with an SUV.

The other driver, an 81-year-old man behind the wheel of the SUV, was not hurt.

The intersection by the SmartCentres Cambridge shopping centre was closed for a couple of hours but re-opened late Tuesday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
