11th annual Farwell4Hire: Raising funds in support of cystic fibrosis research

It’s a remarkable campaign by a pretty remarkable guy.

For decades, Mike Farwell, host of The Mike Farwell Show and the voice of the Kitchener Rangers, has been raising funds in the fight to end cystic fibrosis.

His knack for fundraising began as a young man, helping to find a cure for the fatal, genetic disease that afflicted his sisters Luanne and Sheri. His efforts continued after their deaths in the early 1990s, eventually becoming the Farwell4Hire campaign in 2014. Since its inception, Farwell4Hire has raised over $1 million.

Each May, Mike heads out into the community doing whatever odd jobs he is presented with in exchange for a donation. Mike certainly isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty.

There is something different about this year’s campaign.

For the first time, Farwell4Hire has a presenting matching sponsor. TLC Pet Food in New Hamburg will be matching all donations, up to $30,000. They are also sponsoring the 50/50 early-bird draw which kicked off today.
