Cambridge could get money from Toyota for naming right to soccer complex

The City of Cambridge could be getting a quarter-million dollar boost to pay for the new soccer field complex, thanks to Toyota Canada.

A staff report says Toyota wants to buy the naming rights for the Soccer Complex Fieldhouse, at 880 Linden Drive.

The report cited Toyota as one of the largest employers in the city, and a company that “prides itself on being an important member of its community and aims to be a leading corporate citizen through supporting various community initiatives.”

The city has a fundraising goal for the soccer complex between $1 million and $2 million.

The report is up for approval at the Cambridge council meeting, on Tuesday evening.
