Pair from Kitchener charged in stolen vehicle investigation, crash on Victoria

A long list of charges for a couple from Kitchener, involved in a stolen vehicle investigation, that eventually took officers to the Victoria and Frederick area of the city.

Regional Police say over the noon-hour Wednesday, a stolen vehicle was spotted by officers in the Forfar Avenue area.

The driver fled, and eventually got away, with police holding back, citing safety concerns.

A short while later, police say the same vehicle got into a crash near Victoria Street North and Frederick Street.

The pair in the alleged stolen vehicle tried to flee on foot, and were both caught, and arrested.

A 41-year-old man and 37-year-old woman, both from Kitchener, are facing a long list of charges.

That list includes possession of stolen property, flight from police, and even possession of suspected fentanyl.

No one involved was seriously injured, though police say the Kitchener man in his forties, was sent to hospital with non-life-threatening physical injuries.
