Guelph man facing attempted murder charge after attacking woman

A 69-year-old man from Guelph is facing several charges including attempted murder after attacking a woman on Wednesday.
The incident happened around 11:45 a.m. in a driveway outside a home in the area of William Street and Cassino Avenue.
The man struck the woman in the head with an object repeatedly. Other members of the house came outside to help and both were injured as well.
Eventually, one of the people involved was able to restrain the man before the police arrived.
Everyone involved in the incident knew each other, and the woman who is in her 50s suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The Guelph man is facing numerous charges that include attempted murder, aggravated assault, and assault with a weapon.
