Region looking for public input on improvements to Victoria Street

By Brent Cater

Waterloo Region is looking for the publics input on planned road improvements to Victoria Street.

The plans focus on the section of the street between Fischer-Hallman Road and Lawrence Avenue in Kitchener.

Proposed improvements include upgrades to underground infrastructure, safety enhancements at intersections, road reconstruction and streetlight upgrades.

The width of the road is also planned to be reduced to make way for new biking and transit infrastructure separated from traffic.

Residents are invited to give their feedback on the plan at EngageWR.ca until April 10th. The website also has drawings and a video presentation on the project.

After that date the feedback will be reviewed and presented to regional council at a meeting in June.
