Police investigating after vehicle drives into Grand River

Police are investigating after a driver in Kitchener went down an embankment and into the Grand River on Saturday.
According to Waterloo Regional Police, the incident happened at about 1:40 p.m. on Bridge St. West near Lancaster St. West.
The driver was travelling down Bridge St., left the roadway, and went into the river. Both the driver and a passenger were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Roads in the area of the incident were closed for four hours as the vehicle was removed from the river.
