Kitchener Rangers announce changes to Don Cameron Potato Night

By Josh Goeree

The Kitchener Rangers have announced some changes to the upcoming Don Cameron Potato Night this Sunday.

On their website, the team said they are asking fans to bring monetary donations in lieu of potatoes for the House of Friendship.

“We will still continue on the legacy of Don Cameron by hosting charitable games in his name to support House of Friendship and Food Banks, and will continue do our part to help the growing number of people experiencing homelessness in our community,” said the team in a statement.

“In saying this we ask that you bring in a monetary donation to be collected upon entry on Sunday to support House of Friendship – we aim to raise a record amount of funds in honour of the legendary #OHLRangers broadcaster.”

The team hosts the Kingston Frontenacs on Sunday, and will also be honouring the members of the 1981-1982 Memorial Cup winning team.

Pre-game begins at 1:30 p.m. on CityNews 570.
