Cambridge Fire responding to a fire at the Winners located on Pinebush Road in Cambridge.

The Cambridge Fire Department has confirmed to CityNews 570 they responded to a fire on Pinebush Road at around 10:40 a.m. Monday morning.

Officials said the fire happened in the cardboard compactor at the back of the Winners building in the SmartCentres Cambridge plaza.

It caused the Winners and Michaels buildings to both be evacuated as a precaution.

Officials said the fire has been contained and there are no injuries. They said no damage has been caused to the building.
