Fire at encampment in Kitchener leaves two individuals displaced

On Saturday morning, Kitchener Fire Department were called to the encampment on Weber St and Victoria St for a tent/structure fire.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly with no injuries, as everyone was able to evacuate. Two individuals will be displaced now as the fire left significant damages to tents.

KFD state that the believed cause of the fire was careless cooking and reminds everyone to never leave cooking areas unattended.

They also say that you should never leave anything flammable such as towels near a cooking surface.
