The City of Kitchener begins setting up holiday decorations in downtown core

By CityNews Kitchener staff

If you’re walking in the downtown area of Kitchener this week, you’ll start notice it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Three decoration setups are scheduled to take place, including two trees being donated from community members living in Hickory Heights Crescent and Grenville Avenue. One tree will be set up at Gaukel Block on Tuesday and another will be set up at City Hall at Carl Zehr Square on Thursday.

The City of Kitchener said the trees will be lit the day following installation, weather permitting. Each tree will be illuminated with lights and each have a three foot star toppers.

On Wednesday, the clock tower in Victoria Park will have festive lights and a star installed.

Next month, the Hanukkah menorah will be lit at City Hall on December 7.
