Jacob Hespeler Secondary School reopening Thursday after fire

The Waterloo Region District School Board closed Jacob Hespeler Secondary School early on Wednesday due to a small fire.

According to the board, the fire happened in a science class and was put out in the sink. The incident then left a significant odour behind, prompting the board to close the school around 12 p.m.

Rental and extracurricular activities were also cancelled for the evening.

The board later confirmed that Jacob Hespeler Secondary School will reopen for learning on Thursday.
