Remembrance Day ceremonies in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge

Somber services will be held at local cenotaphs on Nov. 11 as Waterloo Region residents gather to mark Remembrance Day.

In Kitchener, a parade will begin at Ontario Street at 10:30 a.m. and run along King Street and Frederick Street, before concluding at the cenotaph on Duke Street.

In Waterloo, a ceremony will start at 10:30 a.m. at the cenotaph at Peace Grove on Regina Street. Before that, a parade will march to the cenotaph and after the formal ceremony, a moment of silence will be observed at 11 a.m.

In Cambridge, there will be multiple Remembrance Day events and ceremonies held.

Galt’s parade starts at the Galt Legion at 9:45 a.m. and travels down Water Street to the Main Street bridge then towards the cenotaph.

Preston’s parade starts at the Preston Legion on Margaret Street at 10:30 a.m. and travels down Westminster Drive, King Street and Argyle Street, then a ceremony will take place at the cenotaph.

Hespeler Legion’s ceremony starts at 10:30 a.m. at the cenotaph located at Queen Street East and Tannery Street.

Some roads will be closed temporarily in each of the cities core areas to accommodate Remembrance Day parades and ceremonies taking place.
