St. Paul Catholic Elementary School to reopen Tuesday after power outage

By CityNews Kitchener staff

It was a busy Monday morning for both parents and school administrators of St. Paul Catholic Elementary School – with a sudden power outage forcing the closure of the Kitchener school.

In a release sent to CityNews, staff with the Waterloo Catholic District School Board said that outage occurred “right at the start of the school day,” as staff worked quickly to inform parents about the closure through “several communication channels”.

One staff member at the school told a CityNews reporter on Monday morning that the outage was caused by a squirrel interacting with a power line.

According to the Waterloo Catholic District School Board the school will reopen on Tuesday.
