Cambridge Humane Society asking for help with abandoned puppies

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

The Cambridge Humane Society (CHS) is telling the story about a young girl who came to them after she found four puppies abandoned in a field in pretty bad shape.

An Instagram post from the CHS said it all happened Wednesday after the girl found the pups while she was out walking in field.

The dogs were “covered in their own urine and feces and the smell was horrific.”

Staff said they called on New Approach Canine for help to clean the dogs up.

Now the dogs will get their vaccines, deworming, microchips, along with being spayed or neutered, as well as with other procedures and types of care.

The CHS says they are “in desperate need of financial donations to help with the care of these precious pups.”

Donations can be made in person at the shelter on Dunbar Road in Cambridge, across from the Zehrs, or over the phone, by e-transfer, or through their website.

CHS says the pups are not ready for adoption yet, and the shelter is not accepting applications for such at this time.

CityNews 570 has reached out to Waterloo Regional Police asking if an animal cruelty investigation has been launched.
