The Region of Waterloo has now closed a portion of Highland Road West in Kitchener.
According to a release from the region, Highland Road has been closed between Ira Needles Boulevard and Fischer-Hallman Road for surface asphalt paving and line painting.
That work is expected to stretch through to the end of the day on Friday, Sept. 22.
Local traffic for those living or working in the closed area will still be permitted – along with emergency services.
Businesses in the construction area also remain open and accessible during construction, as the region notes every effort will be made to maintain access to driveways during working hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
They do note, however, that construction activity could temporarily impact access to entrances.
The work is all part of plans to improve traffic growth and transportation on Highland Road between Fischer-Hallman and Ira Needles.
