Police are investigating after human remains were found in Guelph.

The Guelph Police Service were called to the area of Royal City park just after 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police spokesperson, Scott Tracey, told CityNews 570, they got an anonymous tip that led them to the remains.

He said they were found between a treed area near the gazebo in the park and a storage shed at the nearby plaza.

Police have identified a man and his next of kin have been notified. Police do not believe the death was suspicious.

As of 7 a.m., Thursday, the plaza and park were both accessible.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sergeant Trevor Byard at 519-824-1212, ext. 7210.
