Two motorists are now facing stunt driving related charges following a road rage incident in Cambridge.
Police responded on Sunday morning to the area of Hespeler Road and Eagle Street North for reports of a collision.
A subsequent investigation determined a silver motorcycle and a white Tesla had been heading south on Hespeler at a high speed, weaving through traffic.
It’s alleged the involved Tesla struck the motorcycle, causing it to slide across the intersection and burst into flames.
The driver of that motorcycle, a 28-year-old man from Fergus, fled the scene but was later located, placed under arrest and taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the Tesla, a 54-year-old Cambridge man, was arrested at the scene.
Both motorists have been charged with stunt driving and dangerous operation.
The motorcyclist is facing additional charges including driving under suspension, operation while prohibited and failure to remain.
