What’s open and closed on Labour Day in Waterloo Region?

Labour Day is here, and while you enjoy your time off, here’s a breakdown of what you can expect in terms of accessibility and closures in the tri-cities:
Residential drop-off in Cambridge and Waterloo waste sites will not be available.
Outdoor sports fields will be open for scheduled rentals.
All regional administrative offices, including Kitchener City Hall is closed.
Also closed are Kitchener Public Library locations, community centres, the Aud, and the Budd Park indoor sports facility.
In terms of what will remain open, Grand River Transit (GRT) will operate on a holiday service schedule. Also, all Region of Waterloo museum locations and Region of Waterloo International Airport.
Doon Valley Golf Course and Rockway Golf Course are open.
For those who need a break from the heat, specific cooling centres in Cambridge and Kitchener will remain open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., though indoor pools are closed.
