Police charge 30-year-old man with careless driving

A 30-year-old man is facing a careless driving charge after a single vehicle collision early Monday morning in Woolwich Township.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:20 a.m. on Shantz Station Road near Menno Street.

Waterloo Regional Police stated that the driver left the roadway and struck a hydro pole.

As a result of the crash, Shantz Station Road was temporarily closed between Menno Street and Rider Road.

Police confirmed that the road was closed for the replacement of a hydro pole.

The driver reported no physical injuries from the crash.
