WRDSB code of conduct complaint investigation will not proceed

A Public School Board Trustee will not be further investigated, after a code of conduct complaint was made.

The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) said earlier this month, an active code of conduct investigation was underway, but could not confirm who it involved.

Joanne Weston, chair of the Waterloo Region District School board of trustees, said in a release that the board is unable to identify the trustee, due to limitations listed in the Education Act.

Trustee Mike Ramsay has said the complaint was made against him in regards to something he said in meetings and on a radio show years ago.

On Tuesday, the Integrity Commissioner concluded a further formal inquiry would not be required.

The reported code of conduct violation happened more than six months before the complaint was made and therefore was outside the time limit required for further investigation.
