The cherry festival returns to Kitchener

Get your baskets ready. The cherry festival is back!

The Cherry Park Neighbourhood Association is kicking off the event later today.

The festival will feature cherry based carnival rides like the cherry train, as well as a carousel swing ride and a spinning pumpkin ride.

Baked goods such as cherry pies, tarts, strudels and jams will also be available.

Visitors will be treated to musical performances from Tyson Webb, Toes Across the Floor and Intensely Irish.

Families can also enjoy musical performances by Erick Traplan and Onion Honey.

The event will also have a vintage car show.

The cherry festival starts at 11:30am and continues until 5pm at Cherry Park in Kitchener with entrances at Strange Street and Park Street.
