No one hurt after fire near Sunnyside Long-Term Care Home

Residents in a supportive housing building near Sunnyside Long-Term Care Home had to be evacuated Monday night, due to what appeared to be a balcony fire.
Waterloo Regional Police confirmed it happened before 8:30 p.m. in the area of Franklin Street North and Kenneth Avenue in Kitchener.

Kitchener Fire crews were able to contain the blaze to an upper floor of the building.
Police say no one was hurt, and the fire is not considered suspicious.
