Police charge youth after shooting incident in Woolwich Township

Regional Police charged a male youth with three offences after a shooting incident in Woolwich Township on Friday.
It happened around 4:40 p.m. on Buggy Lane in the area of Township Road 50 and Letson Drive south of the West Montrose covered bridge.
While responding to the incident, police found an 86-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
An initial investigation determined that the youth shot the gun toward a residence in the area striking the 86-year-old.
The youth was arrested and charged with criminal negligence, careless use of a firearm, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
He was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
