PUBLIC AND CATHOLIC SCHOOLS

– All public and Catholic schools in Waterloo Region are closed Friday. After school programs and child care centres in those schools are also not operating

FRANCOPHONE SCHOOLS    

– Schools operated by the Viamonde School Board are closed

– All schools operated by Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir (French-Catholic board) are closed Friday

POST-SECONDARY

– All University of Waterloo campuses are closed

– All Wilfrid Laurier University campuses are closed

– Conestoga College has closed all of its campuses

PRIVATE SCHOOLS

DAYCARE CENTRES IN WATERLOO REGION

– Butterfly Learning Centre in Waterloo is closed Friday

– All Rising Oaks Early Learning Centres are closed

CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS/EVENTS/PROGRAMS:

Region of Waterloo services impacted on Friday:

Museums: Ken Seiling Waterloo Regional Museum and Schneider Haus National Historic Site will be closed on December 23.

Libraries: All branches will be closed on December 23.

Waste Services: The Waterloo transfer station will be closed on December 23 for public drop-off. The Cambridge location remains open. Updates to collection impacts will be available on the website.

Welcome Spaces: Welcome Spaces will be closed on December 23. Pre-arranged Cheques and Reloadable Payment Cards are available for pickup at the Kitchener and Cambridge locations.  Food vouchers and bus tickets will be available also.

Vaccine Clinics: COVID Vaccine clinics are closed. The regional vaccination clinic at 99 Regina Street South will remain closed on Saturday due to the storm. 

The Food Bank of Waterloo Region has closed its distribution centre for the day, set to reopen on December 27. 

All City of Cambridge arenas are closed for the remainder of Friday and Saturday due to the weather. 

City of Cambridge rec centres are closed for regular programming.

All registered and drop-in programs at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex are cancelled as of 4:00 p.m. That cancellation includes public and lane swims. 

The Waterloo Public Square skating rink is closed due to storm clean-up and staff holiday schedules until December 26.

Lutherwood's three Employment Service locations closed due to inclement weather, unsafe travelling conditions

Community Care Concepts of Woolwich, Wellesly and Wilmot's offices and programs are closed on Friday – including Meals on Wheels.

Two Rivers Family Health Hespeler Medical Clinic & HealthLink Family Practice closed

All EarlyON Waterloo Region locations are closed and programs are cancelled for Friday. 

The Canadian Mental Health Association of Waterloo Wellington has closed all offices due to inclement weather. Scheduled appointments will be moved to virtual, though Here 24/7 services can be accessed for those in crisis by calling 1-844-437-3247.
