Local airport returns to regular operations after Flair plane overruns runway

The Region of Waterloo has reopened primary runway 08-26 and returned to regular operations.

The runway was closed early Friday morning after Flair Airlines flight F8501, arriving from Vancouver, exited the runway at the end of its landing.

All crew and 134 passengers were removed from the aircraft and one individual was treated on the scene for minor physical injuries.

The aircraft has since been recovered and the Transportation Safety Board is continuing its investigation.
