Investigation continues as hold and secure lifted at WCI (update)

Update:
Regional police have released more details after an investigation that led to a hold and secure at Waterloo Collegiate Institute on Monday afternoon.
Officers responded to a weapons call at University Avenue East and Weber Street North, just before 2 p.m.
According to police, there was a threat of a potential fight at the high school and that's why the school was placed in a hold and secure.
It was lifted after investigators determined there was no threat to public safety.
No charges were laid, but the investigation continues.

Waterloo Regional Police remain on scene at Waterloo Collegiate Institute in Waterloo for an investigation, lifting a previous hold and secure.
Posting a notice on Twitter on Monday afternoon, police said the school had been placed in a hold and secure as a “safety precaution.”
Information regarding that investigation is currently limited – though police said their investigation stems from a threat about a “potential altercation” at the school.
They've added that there is no incident at the school at this time, and no concern for public safety.
