By CityNews Kitchener Staff

Police are investigating after four SUVs were recently stolen in the Doon South area of Kitchener.

They started receiving the reports early Thursday morning. The vehicles were stolen in the areas of Robert Ferrie Drive and Thomas Slee Drive.

Police add the vehicles targeted were Toyota and Lexus SUVs.

One vehicle was also abandoned after an attempted theft.

Anyone who has information is asked to contact police at 519-570-9777, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Anonymous tips can also be submitted at www.waterloocrimestoppers.com.

Waterloo Regional Police say residents can also take measures to prevent these type of thefts. That can include blocking access to the onboard diagnostic port to prevent thieves from reprograming the vehicle's key fob, installing a GPS tracker, and using a steering wheel locking device.
