Waterloo man stopped, arrested while allegedly driving stolen motorcycle

Police have arrested a man after locating a stolen motorcycle in Waterloo during proactive patrol.

A male was seen allegedly operating the stolen motorcycle in the area of Erb Street West and University Avenue West Saturday evening at 10 p.m.

While fleeing from officers, the driver abandoned the stolen motorcycle but was arrested by officers after a brief foot pursuit.

As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Waterloo man has been charged with two counts of possession of stolen goods over $5,000, dangerous driving, flight from a peace officer and failure to comply with release order. 

The man was held for a bail hearing.
