K-W Multicultural Festival returns to Victoria Park this weekend

By Christine Clark

For the first time in two years, the Kitchener-Waterloo Multicultural Festival is back in-person.

Lucia Harrison, CEO of the K-W Multicultural Centre, says they are very excited to be back in Victoria Park.

“The weather looks great, we've got a great lineup, it's just so exciting. It's that's personal interaction that makes a festival so much fun… for the last two years, like many folks, we did our festival online, but it's not interactive, you don't get to see people smiling, you don't get to see people enjoying food, and dancing and singing; we've really missed that.”

The full line up and a list of vendors can be found here.

Based on the success of similar festivals in Toronto and Guelph, Harrison expects it will be a busy weekend.

“We have an amazing weekend planned and are expecting a great turn out in the park… everything tells me that we are going to have amazing numbers.”

In the past, the festival has drawn upwards of 40,000 guests to the park over the course of the two days.

Harrison notes that the festival is a bit shorter than in years past, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

She advises everyone to come out early and come hungry!
