Three post-secondary students accused of faking documents to boost grades, get credits

Three post-secondary students are facing charges after fraudulent documents were allegedly used to boost grades and fake course credits.
Regional police started an investigation in March.
The service was looking into fraudulent letters of permission and transcripts that involved six students, who were enrolled at a local post-secondary educational institution.
Police did not identify the students or the school.
It's alleged one suspect created fake permission letters and transcript documents for seventeen courses from two international universities.
Then, these documents were sold to five other students, who paid an amount for every course on the documents.
But, none of these students actually attended the courses or did any of the course work.
The documents faked course completions with high grades.
Police said the students submitted the documents to their schools as proof courses were completed.
Two suspects even obtained degrees in 2020 using the fake documents.
At the start of this month, police charged three students in their 20s with uttering forged documents: a 25-year-old man and two 23-year-old men.
They will appear in court in June.
The investigation is ongoing.
