The Handmaid’s Tale crew is set to return to Cambridge next week

By CambridgeToday Staff

Filming for the fifth season of The Handmaid's Tale will take over a street in west Galt next week.

A crew will be filming interior and exterior scenes for a series with the code name Ruby Road on Brant Road all day March 7.

BlogTO recently reported that Ruby Road was the code name used for The Handmaid's Tale when the show's cast was in Brantford filming last month.

The Handmaid's Tale has filmed all of its seasons in Cambridge, so it's no surprise the cast and crew is making a return to their favourite city.

The Cambridge scenes will be filmed inside the home at 36 Brant Rd. N. and on the street between Blenheim Road and Wentworth Avenue.

Traffic will be controlled through the area with assistance from paid-duty officers from Waterloo Regional Police Service.

The street has been a popular spot for filming in recent years. A home on Brant Road stood in for the home of Beth Harmon, the fictional chess prodigy played by actor Anya Taylor-Joy in the Netflix blockbuster The Queen's Gambit.

The city has an interactive map of all of its scene locations on its Filming in Cambridge website.

The city says not to hesitate to contact their office at invest@cambridge.ca or (519) 740-4685, ext 4724 with any questions or concerns.
