OHL Roundup: Morrison powers surging Bulldogs to 7-2 win over Otters

HAMILTON — Logan Morrison scored his 20th goal of the season and added two assists as the surging Hamilton Bulldogs thumped the Erie Otters 7-2 Monday in the Ontario Hockey League.

Lawson Sherk, Ethan Sims, Ryan Winterton, Arber Xhekaj, Ryan Humphrey and Lucas Moore also scored for the East Division-leading Bulldogs (29-11-4), who have won four straight games and nine of their last 10.

Taeo Artichuk and Colby Saganiuk scored for Erie (28-23-3), which has lost three straight.

Matteo Drobac made 21 saves for Hamilton, while Nolan Lalonde stopped 21 shots for the Otters.

GUELPH, Ont. — Michael Buchinger scored twice and assisted on another goal as Guelph (23-16-4) demolished Owen Sound (19-22-4). Six different skaters scored for the Storm, who have now strung together back-to-back victories.

KINGSTON, Ont. — Jake Muray scored two first-period goals as Kingston (28-13-3) scored four in the opening frame on route to routing Ottawa (20-24-4). 67’s netiminder Max Donoso Max Donoso made 32 saves in defeat.

LONDON, Ont. — Reid Valade scored two goals, including the overtime winner, as Kitchener (19-20-4) edged London (28-12-2). Rangers goalie Pavel Cajan stopped 45 of 49 shots he was peppered with in the win.

WOLVES 3 STEELHEADS 2 (SO)

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Ryan Smith scored the only goal in the shootout as Sudbury (16-26-5) came away with a surprising victory over league-leading Mississauga (29-13-6). The shootout defeat was the Steelheads’ fifth this season, the most in the OHL.

OSHAWA, Ont. — Stuart Rolofs registered a goal and three assists to lead the Generals (24-17-5) to the home victory. Dylan Roobroeck and Danil Gushchin replied for Niagara (13-27-3).

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — Emmett Sproule and Chase Stillman had a goal and an assist each for the Petes (17-26-3). Roenick Jodoin, Oliver Smith and Declan McDonnell replied for Barrie (23-16-4).

SARNIA, Ont. — Ethan Keppan scored twice to pace Flint (29-14-4). Nolan DeGurse had a goal and an assist for the Sting (19-19-4).

WINDSOR, Ont. — Louka Henault had a goal and two assists for the Spitfires  (24-13-5). Mitchell Smith, Matyas Sapovaliv and Dalton Duhart scored for Saginaw (16-28-1).
