Kitchener man facing attempted murder charge in connection with incident on Sept. 8

A Kitchener man has been charged with attempted murder in connection to an incident in Kitchener earlier this month.

Police responded to a call about a woman in medical distress the evening of September 8. She was located on a trail near Riverbend Drive.

A 27-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police say the suspect fled the area, but was later arrested.

A 32-year-old Kitchener man was charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm – strangulation, uttering threats, and mischief under $5,000.

The additional charge of attempted murder was laid on Monday, September 20.

Police also say the victim and the accused are know to each other.
