Castle Kilbride reopens to the public on Wednesday after six months of closed doors because of pandemic restrictions.
“We have been eagerly waiting for this day for many months now, and we cannot wait to open our doors to the public,” said Tracy Loch, director and curator.
Wilmot Township's National Historic Site will be open Wednesdays through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors will be asked to follow safety protocols.
Tickets will continue to be booked online and in advance with groups of eight or fewer people.
During the 35-minute personal guided tour, guides “will proudly showcase the 1877 mansion along with their newest exhibit My Dearly Departed which has been carried over from 2020,” they wrote in a news release.
The exhibit highlights the 100th annivarsary of the death of Canada's Flax Mill King and owner of Castle Kilbride himself, James Livingston, as well as Victorian mourning customs and traditions.
