Mill Street development approved with major change

By Mark Pare

It marks a sizeable shift to what was initially proposed.

Kitchener city council is approving an amendment to a development on Mill Street, but there won't be a 12-storey building going up.

Instead, the zoning amendment will allow for the construction of four-storey buildings, including back-to-back townhouses, or 75 to 85 units.

It comes after a discussion between the developer Polocorp, the city and the neighbourhood.

This is the property where two homes that date back to the 1800's stand, and are still up for demolition.
