GRT to adjust its hours for holiday service

Grand River Transit is going to be adjusting its routes and service hours going into the holidays.

Starting on December 21 and ending January 3:

  • Route 9, 13, 19: Mid-day service reduced from every 15 minutes to every 30 minutes.
  • Route 10: Mid-day and peak service reduced from every 15 minutes to every 30 minutes.
  • Route 61: Mid-day and peak service reduced from every 15 minutes to every 30 minutes between Preston Parkway and Conestoga College.
  • Route 110: No service.
  • Route 203: Peak and mid-day trips between Sportsworld Station and Conestoga College cancelled.

December 25:

  • Route 301 ION light rail: Service every 30 minutes until approximately 10 p.m.
  • Routes 7, 51, 201, 302: Service every 30 minutes until approximately 6 p.m.
  • Routes 1, 6, 8, 12, 55, 56, 59, 60, 61, 202, 203, 204, 205, 206: Service every 60 minutes until approximately 6 p.m.

December 26:

  • Holiday service, except Route 302 ION Bus, which will run on a Saturday schedule. Holiday service is noted on all route schedules.

December 31:

  • With public health advising residents to stay at home during the pandemic, except for essential services, GRT will not be providing free service or any extra service on New Year's Eve in 2020. 

January 1:

  • Holiday service will resume. 

The Ainslie St. Terminal building hours will also be operating between:

  • December 24 – 5:15 a.m. to 12:45 a.m.
  • December 25 – 8:15 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.
  • December 26 – 7:15 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.
  • December 31 – 5:15 a.m. to 12:45 a.m.
  • January 1 – 7:15 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Be advised that customer service hours will also be adjusted with December 25 and January 1 being closed to the public, and December 26, open between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
