Forty-five of the shuttered DavidsTea locations will be reopening under the brand T. Kettle.
Six of the stores will reopen in the U.S., while the rest are scattered across Canada.
It includes one in the Cambridge Centre.
In a statement to 570 NEWS, a spokesperson said, “At this time, we do not have any other locations in the K-W area, but we’re moving into Stone Road Mall in Guelph as the next closest location.”
The Cambridge Centre also provided the following statement, “We can confirm that T. Kettle will be joining Cambridge Centre. We don’t have any additional details with regards to opening date.”
Entrepreneur and businessman David Putman is behind the move. In a release, he said, “We believe that loose-leaf tea is poised for a similar comeback, and we're merging our expertise in retail operations with our passion for tea to bring T. Kettle to cities across Canada and the U.S.”
T. Kettle stores will feature certified vegan, kosher, and organic blends. The company said all of the products are ethically sourced and sustainable.
