Kitchener man creates world’s first functioning lightsaber

A popular YouTuber from Waterloo Region has created our galaxy's first functioning lightsaber.
James Hobson of Kitchener is better known as The Hacksmith, and has over 10-million subscribers on his YouTube channel.
He's produced the world's first retractable, plasma-based version of the sci-fi weapon from Star Wars.
Hobson and his team used propane gas, burning at around 4,000 degrees, to create the retractable plasma beam.
