Wilfrid Laurier University plans on continuing to offer most of their 2021 winter semester through remote and online formats.
Dr. Anthony Vannelli, Provost and VP: Academic, wrote in a letter informing students of the university's decision.
Through careful consideration and under advisement from public health professionals, they decided not to return to full in-person learning. He wrote that the winter term would look very much like the fall term in regards to the university's public health policies.
Staff are being directed to examine which courses and programs could return to an in-person format, and a list will be provided in late September, according to the letter.
Programs being considered are courses that require laboratory access; courses that take place off-site; courses that require access to learning materials (e.g. instruments); and courses for licensing or accreditation requirements.
